FOTD- Purple Pearl

Another make up look for you today. I decided to go with purple. I used three shadows that I bought about 2 years ago that have been very neglected!

Clockwise from the left- Rimmel London eyeshadow (don't think they sell this colour anymore), MUA eyeshadow in pearl shade 3, MUA eyeshadow in pearl shade 9.

FOTD- Mermaid blue

Finally my camera has decided to work, yay! I was palying about with my Dawn til Dusk MUA palette again today and came up with this...

I really need to work on my blending, looking in the mirror it looks fine but when I take the pictures I can really see the mistakes :-|

FOTD- Aqua purple

I decided to use two colours from the MUA Dawn til Dusk palette again today. I used the bright aqua and deep purple (circled below).

On my lips I am wearing MUA lipstick shade 14- Bare with DuWop Venom gloss in Buttercup over the top.

FOTD- DuWop and MUA

I had to do my make up really quickly today as I was running late for my therapy appointment, so please excuse the shabbiness of it.
I used two colours from the Dusk til Dawn palette from Mua and tried out the Venom gloss by DuWop that I received in my GlossyBox this month.

I was a little dissapointed with the pigmentation of this palette. The single eyeshadows from MUA are so great I expected these to be the same. I had to use quite a bit of product to get any noticeable colour. However, when applied I really loved how it turned out (even if it was really rushed and not blended properly!).

Shade- Buttercup

I have tried many "lip plumping" glosses before and found the only one to make visible difference was Lip Injection by Too Faced (it stung like hell). I was hopeful this DuWop Venom gloss would be good as it is from a higher end brand. It applied smoothly but felt a little too sticky for my liking. After a few seconds the tingling sensation began and lasted a good 15 minutes. However, I noticed no change in the plumpness of my lips, although they did turn slightly more pink.
I do absolutely LOVE the shade of this gloss though, its a subtle champagne colour but as my lips became more pink due to the tingling feeling it sort of turned the gloss into a lovely nudey pink. I am considering purchasing the full size :-)

Mua palette available here for £4
DuWop venom gloss available here for £16

Have you tried either products before?

New MUA purchases

Even though I'm not meant to be spending any money on things I don't need I couldn't resist ordering a few bits from MUA (naughty me). Originally I was only going to order a certain nail polish, which I have seen lots of on blogs lately. Its the shade U Rok from the Love Hearts collection. Then I saw that the eye shadow palettes had a pound off so I added one of those to my basket... and I couldn't proceed to the checkout before browsing the lipsticks, so in went item number 3...

Top left, clockwise, nail polish in U ROK, lipstick in shade 14- Bare, Dusk til Dawn eye shadow palette.

It was the turquoise shade that drew me to this particular palette.

Sorry for the blur, my battery was about to die.

I actually love this lipstick! I have been searching for a perfect nude for awhile now but now I think I'm going to stick with this one. I love how subtle it is, it was nice to apply, didn't dry my lips out and was a bargain at only £1!

I will do some swatches of the eye shadow palette when I get the chance, and do a NOTD post using U Rok.

Lipstick available here for £1
Nail polish available here for £2
Dusk til Dawn palette on offer here for £3 (usual price £4)

30 Day Challenge- Day 25, Beauty regime

I'm not sure if this should be about my pre-make up regime or how I actually apply my make up so I shall do both :-)

-I start by removing any leftover make up with a good old baby wipe, then cleanse my face with Simple's moisturising face wash.

- I moisturise using my Monu revitilising moisturiser that I got in my Glossybox. Then I moisturise a second time using my Nivea tinted moisturiser then apply my MUA primer.

- If my skin isn't looking too great with the tinted moisturiser alone I use a foundation brush to apply Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation then a dusting of Collection 2000's face powder to take off the shine.

- My VIVO bronzer in "Bronzed" goes on next and I blend into my neck if my fake tan is wearing off (I hate the orange head, white neck look!)

- Next to go on is my blusher, its either MAC Dainty or VIVO Sugar Candy.

- Onto the eyebrows... I have naturally dark hair so fill in my brows with the darkest shade from my HD Brows palette. I then apply highlighter to my cheekbones and my brow bone.

- My usual choice of eye make up is normally black liquid eye liner with a small flick at the end. I find this the quickest and easiest look to create. I then add some mascara to the top and bottom lashes and finish with applying a high lighter to the inner corner of my eyes.

Voila!

NOTD- Midnight Blue & Monster High hunt!

This weekend has been tough, we are so skint! Pay day isn't until Wednesday so until then we are poor :-( I had to borrow £10 from my friend yesterday to get some essentials. All my stuff on Ebay sold so my Paypal account was quite full, its a shame you can't use it to pay for groceries! I've used it to get some of the girls Christmas presents. I've been trying to get my hands on a Monster High Draculaura doll for Willow, but its sold out everywhere! I've managed to find it in a set with another doll (Clawd Wolf) for £30 but its the "Dawn of the Dance" doll she wants. I love the Monster High dolls, they are so funky.
Last year I had to track down a Barbie Puppy Swim School, i ended up paying a stupid amount for it and she's only played with it once! Kids! Lily is easy to buy for, anything Mickey Mouse or Toy Story and she's happy. When the kids had gone to sleep last night i decided to design a new header for my blog, Christmas themed! I haven't decided when i'm going to put it up yet, might be the 1st of December when the advent calender opening starts. That reminds me, i need to get the girls some!

Draculaura Dawn of the Dance doll, I need to find this!

Onto my NOTD-
The nail wraps i applied the other day started to bore me. I've got to admit, their staying power is great. Washing up, bathing kids, cleaning and general wear and tear didn't budge them. The only thing i noticed was the very edges of my nails had gone abit white but nothing really noticeable. By now, nail varnish would have chipped. So thumbs up Nail Rock, I'm impressed!
I decided to try out MUA's nail polish, I picked up shade 1 from Superdrugs website and applied it last night. It was hard to be neat with the rubbish lighting in our house but here was the result after two coats...

It wasnt very easy trying to pick up the delicate blue sparkles in this nail varnish with my camera. It looks much nicer in real life. Its a sort of deep purple with dark blue sparkle, from a distance it almost looks black.

I tried to capture its true colour here

Considering this nail polish is only £1.00 I am very happy with it. It was easy to apply, dried pretty quick and has given a nice result. I'm definately going to try more nail polishes from MUA.

MUA nail polish in shade 1 is available to buy here, £1.00

What do you think?

MUA and Beauty UK

Random post today, thought I'd share with you my favourite lipsticks at the mo and my opinion on MUA's mascara.
I'm not usually a big lipstick wearer, im more of a lipgloss kind of girl. I did go through a phase a few years ago wear all id wear was baby pink lipstick, got bored of that quite quick though. I'd heard alot of good feedback from Superdrugs makeup range MUA so thought Id take a look. I ended up buying 2 lipsticks and mascara. Had a quick browse of the Beauty UK range and bought a lipstick and baked blusher, oh and a volume sensation lipstick from Collection 2000 (from Boots) in cherry pop.

Left to right- Beauty UK in Sunset £3.49, Mua shade 7 £1.00, Collection 2000 volume sensation in cherry pop £2.99, MUA shade 3 £1.00.

Swatches (taken with the flash on but i think the colours are pretty accurate)-

Beauty uk sunset, MUA shade 7, Collection 2000 volume sensation cherry pop, MUA shade 3.

My favourite is definately Beauty UKs sunset, its such a lovely colour. The only thing is, i find it quite drying, even after putting lipbalm on beforehand. The MUA shades are lovely too and much creamier than Beauty uks. They didnt make my lips feel flaky or dry after. The Collection 2000 volume sensation was moisturing too, colour was bright and it did make my lips feel tingly, cant say i noticed much difference in the size of them though :-( bit dissapointing.

Onto Beauty UK baked blusher and MUA mascara-

Beauty uk baked blusher in candy shop £3.99.

I love how it comes with a little tiny brush that stores underneath. Only trouble is, its pretty rubbish, it just bends and doesnt pick up any colour. So i ended up just using my normal blusher brush.

First pic without flash, second pic with flash.

I like the colour of candy shop, it gives a soft pink glow to my cheeks and looks natural. I couldnt get a good enough picture with me actually wearing it but you can see how shimmery and pink it is from these pics.

MUA mascara £1

One word... Rubbish. Might be a bit harsh but this just did hardly anything for me. It gave me the slightest bit of length and thats it. My eyelashes look the same without any on! I couldnt get a good photo to show you but there wouldnt have been much point anyway because there just wasnt a difference. Maybe i find it so rubbish because im comparing it to my much loved Dior mascara (cant live without it!) i duno... All i can say is that i wont be using MUA mascara again.
