Rimmel gel eyeliner update

The other day I posted about Rimmels waterproof gel eyeliner and how I couldnt get the swatch off my hand. Well, it is still bloody there!!!
And before you think I'm a dirty ho-bag and don't wash, my hands are constantly wet from washing up, cleaning, changing nappies and picking up dog poop. I am always washing them, and of course showering everyday. It's not like I've not been scrubbing at it either, I've made my hand red with rubbing at it with kitchen towel, flannels, sponges, baby wipes, makeup remover and cotton wool... you name it, I've tried it.

The offending mark.

I've been wearing the gel liner on my eyes for the past few days and found it comes off okay with a make up wipe, although it does take quite a bit of rubbing. It's definitively waterproof though, without any scrubbing it won't budge.

I wonder how long it will take for this mark to dissapear?

Rimmel 3 for 2 offer, what I bought & FOTD

Whilst browsing the make up stand in Sainsburys yesterday I couldn't resist the 3 for 2 offer on all Rimmel products. I really wanted to re-purchase my beloved pink blush lipstick and was keen to try out their new Wake me Up foundation. I then spotted their gel eyeliner so gave the tester a quick swatch. I really wish shops would provide tissues to wipe off all the swatches you do on your hand, I ended up walking round with a hand covered in lipsticks and eyeliner.
Here's what I came home with...

Left to right- Lasting Finish lipstick in pink blush, Wake me Up foundation in soft beige, waterproof gel eyeliner in black.

This is probably my all time favourite pink lipstick. It is so pigmented and creamy.

I love how cute the little pot is, and how the brush sits in the lid.

My miserable mush wearing all three products.

So what do I think?
First off, the foundation... I was really excited to try this after seeing so many good reviews. To be honest, I'm not astounded. It's nothing I'd bother raving about. To me, its just another foundation that gives a dewy-ish finish. I wish I'd saved the money and bought the L'Oreal Lumi Magique foundation that I posted about here instead.

Secondly, the eyeliner... When I swatched this in the shop I was really impressed, it was creamy and applied nicely with a cute little brush that sits in the lid. I did a small line on my hand and after giving it a few rubs it didn't come off.  I have scrubbed it with soap and water numerous times and showered but it won't budge. Definitely lives up to the waterproof claim! The only thing I don't like is when applied on the eyes it takes awhile to dry. I applied it then went and faffed in the bathroom only to find it had smudged on my eyelids :-( I used a babywipe to remove the mess and re-applied. I sat for a few minutes before making another move but it still smudged a little at the outer corners. Poop. I haven't had it on long so I can't comment on the longevity of it just yet.

Lastly, the lipstick. Like I said before, this is my all time favourite pink lippy. I love everything about it, the shade, pigmentation and creamy consistency. I could wear pink blush everyday and never get bored.

Have you tried any of these products? What do you think?

Wake me Up foundation, currently on offer in Sainsburys for £8.99
Waterproof gel eyeliner, RRP £6.49
Lasting finish pink blush lipstick, RRP £4.99

New Purchases

Helllllloooo! I'm back! Had a very eventful weekend in London with the girls! I'm going to post about it when I have more time, Ozzy is being a clingy whingebag at the mo, he won't let me put him down.
These are a few bits I bought on Friday (except the OPI nail polish, my friend gave it to me).

From left, clockwise- Sally Hansen airbrush legs, Muppets OPI polish in Divine Swine, Soap and Glory "Show good face" foundation, Barry M lipliner in red, Barry M kohl eyeliner in white, Barry M lipgloss in red,  feather necklace from Topshop (reduced from £16.50 to £1.50! Bargain!)

Closeup of Divine Swine, can't wait to try this.

I love this foundation! I usually use Bourjois Healthy Mix but this looked interesting as it is also a primer. I am so glad I bought this! It had a dewy finish without being greasy, medium coverage and lasted all day. My new fave :-)

Left to right- Barry M lipliner, eye liner and lipgloss.

The lipgloss came free from Boots as I spent £6 on Barry M products.  It is a lovely vibrant red but unfortunately bled around my mouth and I looked rather silly! I actually bought a nail varnish too but I am at my mums and forgot to bring it with me.
The airbrush legs is one of my favourite products for a night out. It covers all blemishes, evens out your skin tone and comes in a range of shades. My legs are covered in bruises at the moment, they just keep randomly appearing!

Do you use any of these products?

30 Day Challenge- Day 25, Beauty regime

I'm not sure if this should be about my pre-make up regime or how I actually apply my make up so I shall do both :-)

-I start by removing any leftover make up with a good old baby wipe, then cleanse my face with Simple's moisturising face wash.

- I moisturise using my Monu revitilising moisturiser that I got in my Glossybox. Then I moisturise a second time using my Nivea tinted moisturiser then apply my MUA primer.

- If my skin isn't looking too great with the tinted moisturiser alone I use a foundation brush to apply Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation then a dusting of Collection 2000's face powder to take off the shine.

- My VIVO bronzer in "Bronzed" goes on next and I blend into my neck if my fake tan is wearing off (I hate the orange head, white neck look!)

- Next to go on is my blusher, its either MAC Dainty or VIVO Sugar Candy.

- Onto the eyebrows... I have naturally dark hair so fill in my brows with the darkest shade from my HD Brows palette. I then apply highlighter to my cheekbones and my brow bone.

- My usual choice of eye make up is normally black liquid eye liner with a small flick at the end. I find this the quickest and easiest look to create. I then add some mascara to the top and bottom lashes and finish with applying a high lighter to the inner corner of my eyes.

Voila!

Vivo, slimming and Charlie

So me and the rabble popped to Tesco lastnight, the girls were amazed with all the Halloween stuff. Mr.A decided to chase Lily round the aisles wearing a scary mask, she was screaming so high pitched it almost became inaudible! Then he decided to stick a severed arm up my sleeve and pull it out while shouting "argghhh! Mommys arms come off!" My eldest, Willow though it was hilarious and nearly wet herself laughing so much, Lily on the other hand looked petrified. The little monsters chose their Halloween outfits, Willows a pirate witch, Lilys a devil and Ozzy is a skeleton. They are going to look so cute :-)
I popped along to the slimming foods section and came across food by the Atkins diet. Ive never tried this diet before but decided to pick up two of their meal replacement bars, chocolate decadence and chocolate hazlenut crunch. I tried the chocolate decadence one last night, it was soooo nice! Im definately buying one again. I also bought a tub of slim fast in chocolate flavour, a choc peanut meal replacement bar by slim fast and a tescos own ultra slim shake in vanilla. Will let you know how they taste! Im still taking the maxitone shakes everyday, im used to the bitter after taste now. Weigh day soon!

I decided to check out Tescos makeup range Vivo. Id heard good comments about them from other bloggers so decided to check it out for myself. I picked up-

Left to right top row- lipstick in coral flair, lipstick in pink pout £1.99 each, volumising mascara in black £2.59, black liquid eyeliner £2.00.
Left to right bottom row- baked bronzer in bronzed shade 2 £5.00, blush with highlighter duo in sugar candy shade 2 £2.39.

Swatches-

Left to right top row- sugar candy blush, sugar candy highlighter.
Left to right bottom row- coral flair lipstick, pink pout lipstick, eyeliner, bronzer.

Lipsticks-

The first thing i noticed about these was the smell. It reminds me of being on holiday applying sun lotion, it has that sweet vanilla/ coconut scent, soooo nice! I found them both easy to apply, they were moisturising and made my lips feel soft after application. Im glad i picked the colours i did, they are both so soft and pretty. The pink pout has a slight gold shimmer to it which i love. The packaging is nice to, sleek and shiny with a different shape to the normal round tube.

Mascara-

I chose the volumising mascara as i dont feel my lashes particulary need length. The mascara i usually wear is Dior. I dont usually go for other brands of mascara unless im running out and low on funds. The brush is similar to my Dior, it was quite big and thick. Im a little bit odd in that i like to use my mascara when it is slightly dry. Whens its fresh it just seems to slide on and off again. I dont like clumps or spider eyes, i just find the mascara sticks better when its not brand new. Having said that, this mascara was pretty good. It took 3 coats to get it how i like, ive found with other brands it takes alot more. Im quite impressed and would buy it again in the future :-)

Nice fat brush

Without mascara

With... Me likey!

Eyeliner-

I didnt see the point in taking a picture of this, it looks just like any other black liquid eyeliner. I usually use Rimmel, it stays on all day, its easy to apply and does great flicks as the brush is stiff. The Vivo eyeliner however, does not. The brush is really thin and bendy, great if you want thin delicate lines but i like mine thicker. The bendy brush makes it hard to flick at the outer corners, i had to switch back to my trusted Rimmel one for that. I shall use Vivos eyeliner until it runs out but i wouldnt repurchase.

Bronzer-

I love this bronzer! It gives a nice bronzed glow to the skin and looks equally good used on the cheeks as a blusher. It goes on smooth and doesnt make you look orange. The biggest bonus for me is that its cheaper than my usual by GOSH. I shall repurchase this IF it has good staying power. I have only just applied it so dont know if it will still be on later today, i shall let you know.

Blush and highlighter-

I was abit worried this blush would be abit too Barbie pink for me, i usually go for more orangey blush. It looks much brighter in real life than in the picture almost neon! Thank goodness its not when applied. It was a much softer shade of pink and gave me a healthy glow. The highlighter is fab, its subtle and sparkly, just how i like it. It went on fab and was easy to blend.

My phone wouldnt take a good enough photo with the bronzer and blush applied. Ive just found my camera though, woo hoo! Once ive got it up and running i will be able to take better pictures.

I took a fab picture of one of my doggies yesterday, hes wearing his little 'Security' t-shirt and rolled over for me when i got my phone out to snap him. Meet Charlie... Hes a 9 mnth old Bichon Frise-
